Description

Evidence is developed through a process where a trace comes into existence, then the trace is preserved over time. The trace is found by someone, and deemed to be significant, then the trace is interpreted in light of other primary and secondary sources. The intepretation turns the trace into evidence. Next, the evidence is incorporated into a meaningful historical account or narrative.
